Leap of Faith

Happy 2016 to everyone!!!

I hope you all are well this January, keeping bundled up well in the frigid weather!  Down here in the deep South we get grouchy when it gets below 40° outside!  Well, maybe I’m only speaking for myself haha 🙂

These last 6 months have included quite the whirlwind of events!  In addition to various happenings in my personal life, in August I returned from a summer overseas and was immediately swept onto the rollercoaster of what ended up being my busiest season of business to date.  I owe that to all of YOU, sweet friends, and thank God for this opportunity to glorify Him through photography!  I adore your smiles, your joy and all these memories you’re making!  Truly, I could never fully express my gratitude for giving me the honor of freezing these moments in time for you and your family!  THANK YOU!!!

There are still many full months of photography ahead of me in 2016 (which is why you should reserve your spot for a spring session NOW!!).  However, let me make you aware of another great shift that’s fixing to occur for A Glimpse of His Glory.  It’s pretty exciting!!!  Listen up, because this change involves both me and you.

For several years photography has been one of my greatest passions, my ministry, and a way to glorify Christ through art!  Yet when I was 13 I strongly sensed God was also calling me to serve as a missionary in Africa in the future.  When I started A Glimpse of His Glory I committed that no matter how successful this business became, I would lay it down willingly to follow Jesus wherever He leads me…and like I said before, I just knew in my heart that somehow Africa would be woven into that plan…someday.

A two week trip to South Sudan in 2012 was God’s first open door.  Another short-term trip followed in 2014 and I was introduced to beautiful Uganda and the ministry of Four Corners.  And then my most recent step included a 2-month internship for the same ministry summer of 2015.

These were some of the most life changing experiences of my life!  If you feel like reading about some of these African adventures hop on over to my other blog, Left My Heart in Africa.  {Just forgive me in advance for writing errors and senseless ramblings.  I try to report of God’s work as well as I can, but pictures are my thing, not words 🙂 }

In this journey of obedience my heart is being engulfed by this ocean of God’s grace, his forgiveness, and purpose, and I find myself sinking deeper and deeper in love with Him and exploring new depths of His perfect character each passing day.  Have you experienced this kind of walk with the Lord?  It’s free to all.  It’s a relationship that drives me to do what I do with great passion.  It’s the only message of HOPE that will change the world!  That’s why I can’t contain it!

I’m beyond thrilled to share with you today that after spending several months seeking God’s direction for the future, I feel an undeniable peace that it’s time I take another huge leap of faith in response to God’s call on my life.

I’ve applied to serve and share the hope of Jesus in Uganda with Four Corners Ministries through an extended internship spanning from June to November 2016!!

I can’t wait to see what God will do in this upcoming season!

Throughout the 6 months I will come alongside FCM missionaries who live among and serve the village of Kinene and surrounding areas. There are an increasing variety of ministry demands at Abaana’s Hope, so I expect to help in whatever ways are most needed within the Child Development Program, Women’s Refuge Center, Living Stones Community Church, Living Stones School, and Life Beads ministry.  I will also initiate some sort of Biblical training/mentorship among teens while I am there.

Please partner with me now in prayer for this next adventure!  Pray for the Lord to be glorified, for the lost to be found, and for Christ to continue to shape me more into His likeness through this experience!

Let’s take this leap of faith together!

Alrighty now, after all that rambling, here’s the part I mentioned would be for you.  In case you are curious…

What’ll become of A Glimpse of His Glory?  Will it be shutting down?

Unfortunately, yes, I will NOT be in business for a spell (…unless you want to come to UG for pictures!  I’m telling you, my senior session with Ryan was probably one of my top 3 photoshoots of all time….so think about it! 😉 ).

**Take note that the last session slot I am making available this year is on April 30, 2016 to ensure that I get your photos to you before leaving the country.**

My business will not start up again until January 2017.

Thank you SO, SO much for understanding, friends!

Capturing the lifestyle and growth of the Acholi people in Northern Uganda is one of my favorite things, so photography won’t be moving to the backburner while I’m away!  Uganda will be my home, my family and my life!  You can count on my updating you with vibrant images and glimpses of God’s glory from the African bush as often as I can!

Again, be sure to follow follow along on my personal blog!
