From the first day I walked through the doors of our dear little church 2 1/2 years ago I thought she was one of the most gorgeous young women I’d ever laid eyes on. As time passed Maddie and I formed a casual acquaintance, chatting before service every now and then. Then a few months ago she announced her plan to spend a month serving in Ireland. Interestingly, I had just begun telling friends about my own international plans for the summer as well, and that’s the key which instantly connected our lives in a deeper way: that fiery passion for Jesus and obedience to his command to reach the nations with the Gospel. We’ve been talking travel and ministry ever since!
So in the midst of the endless to-do lists, final work days, sleepless nights, and texts back and forth freaking out about how unreal this feels, we actually put a date on the calendar, an entire afternoon this week to play around with camera settings in preparation for our trips and dream together of the exciting future being ambassadors of Christ.
The world of ISO, shutter speed and aperture is so complex and truly fascinating. I’m honored to have had the opportunity to teach what I’ve learned about photography over the years. Hopefully some of it made sense and it’ll be useful to you as you capture the incredible Irish castles and Celtic lifestyle, Maddie 🙂
Of course, I couldn’t dream of going home without grabbing a few additional shots of this precious girl. Ah! She’s a natural beauty, inside and out! Made my job so easy and fun!
Notice the green, stone, and clover themes represented throughout. This was actually totally unplanned (minus her jewelry), yet every detail fit so perfectly, tying the most well known characteristics of Ireland together for this session. Absolute perfection!
